The spacer is just like an aluminum wheel, in that when they are new, the lug nuts take some time to seat in. If you look at any aluminum wheel, the taper where the lug nuts seat is slightly smashed. This is due to the weight and vibration of driving, which cause the nuts to become loose. A wheel spacer is no different.
A wheel spacer thouugh decreases flex on a normal vehicle, but it actually increases articulation on a body-lifted vehicle (mind you not suspension-lift, just body-lift). This holds true to though vehiles which when flexing are limited by the outer edge of the fenders and not the inside walls of the wheel arches.
